THE MUSIC of such great Russian composers as Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky, and Mussorgsky will be celebrated and performed in the Town Hall Theatre from January 23 to 25 at 8pm during Music For Galway’s Russian Romantics chamber music festival.

THE RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra will be joined by brilliant German pianist Bernd Glemser for Haydn’s ‘Surprise Symphony’ - of which the composer said, “This will make the ladies scream” - on its 2009 Spring tour.

A TOTAL of 32 strings, 16 hands, and eight musicians will combine to perform the music of Mendelssohn when ConTempo and the RTÉ Vanbrugh Quartet play The Hotel Meyrick on Monday April 20 at 8pm.

The redevelopment of Ballina Arts Centre launched The Final Push programme last Wednesday. The new state of the art, centre for Ballina has got funding from various sources and those behind the project launched The Final Push in Murphy’s Longnecks during the week.
